Hi, I’m David and I’m writing this blog as a description and a discussion of what it means to be a dad in the 21st century.
In 2014, Shared Parental Leave came into effect (thanks government!), allowing mothers to share their maternity leave with their partners. My wife and I agreed that she would go back to work after about 6 months and then I would take over the remainder of the year looking after our daughter – 147 days, to be precise.
So far it’s been an interesting experience being an honorary ‘mum’ and I hope to share some of my thoughts about being a dad in a mum’s world.
